Lama the Lhasa leads Myrons Ride 76 on the front of Shaun’s Tomos Streetmate with custom made fiberglass fairing. The wide medium-height handlebars give it a dirt-bike safety stance, more able to stay in control when hitting potholes. The big tires and powerful brakes also contribute to it’s tremendous safety.

Shaun’s dog Lama rides in the Streetmate cargo box with the lid removed. With over 13,000 miles and in the prime of it’s life, his loyal 2005 Tomos Streetmate has been a daily driver since 2009. Compared to a car, it saves about $2000 a year in gas and insurance, and has convenience and fun as bonus perks.

Torque is 7.6 ft-lbs at 6000 rpm. Top speed 60 mph.

Weight 225 lbs. It’s a big powerful bike, freeway legal (in CA). Carrying capacity 320 lbs.

Automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) for good acceleration and hill climbing.

Locking under seat compartment holds a full face helmet, or many books. Great for longer commutes.

Requires a motorcycle drivers license in almost all states.

It’s also a 49-state model , EPA Certified, but not sold in California.

Torque is 2.3 ft-lbs at 6500 rpm. Similiar power as a moped. Top speed 30 mph.

Weight 263 lbs. It’s a heavy, big bike, but with very low power. Carrying capacity 300 lbs.

Bigger diameter 16″ tires make it easier to stay in control over bumps, dips, and pot holes.

Automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) for good acceleration and hill climbing.

Locking under seat compartment holds a full face helmet, or many books. Great for students.

In some states, because it’s 49cc and slow, it’s considered a moped, and does not need a drivers license.
